This rule applies to Indian and international car manufacturers. And non-compliance can result in a fine of up to Rs. 1,000.

  Introducing back seat belts is a welcome move that safety advocates and organizations like CEAT have applauded. Wearing a safety belt in the back seat can reduce the risk of injury and death in an accident by up to 75%, as per a report by the World Health Organization (WHO)*. It also helps to prevent passengers from colliding with the front seat or dashboard.
